Fall 2016

Residence Hall Move-In

It is very important you arrive during your designated move-in time as indicated in your assignments email. Please note that if you arrive outside of this window, you may not be able to access campus. If you are not able to move-in during your time slot, please plan to arrive after the move-in time during "Late Move-In"

Parking

You will receive a colored dash-pass in the mail. When you arrive to campus, this pass will grant you access. Simply follow signs for your color or staff member directions. To facilitate traffic flow, you will be directed to an unloading area where you will have 20 minutes to unload. After 20 minutes you will be directed to longer-term parking. Violators are subject to citation.

Check-In

Students should follow signs to their designated check-in locations while families unload the car. To check in you will need a photo ID (CatCard, Drivers License/ID Card, High School ID, etc.). During the check-in process you will be given your keys, room condition reports, and further information. Once check-in is complete, you can begin moving in your items. If you were under the age of 18 when you signed your contract online, please bring a printed copy with your parent/guardian's signature or your signature if you are over 18.

Hand carts will be available to borrow at locations around housing but we recommend you bring your own if you have one. Additionally, water stations will be available. Summer in Merced is hot and dry so it is recommended you dress appropriately and bring plenty of water.

Check-in Locations

Apartment Details

We’ve prepared a list of what to bring which also describes what is included in the apartment. Each resident in the apartment will be issued a personal MiFi hotspot to provide wireless internet access. This is a temporary measure. We are working with our vendors to establish a more permanent internet service.

Thank you for providing feedback on laundry services. Based on survey responses and limited community washers/dryers in some complexes, apartments will also be furnished wish a washer and dryer which will be free to use for residents of that apartment. Two bedroom apartments will have washers and dryers first and other apartments will be equipped as soon as possible. In the meantime, each apartment complex has a community laundry center.

Heritage Town Hall Meeting

We will be hosting a town hall meeting to provide updates on the apartment community (transportation, laundry, and other services) and to help answer your question about this program. The town hall will be held Wednesday, August 31st at 8:00 PM to 9:00 PM in the California Room.

If you have any questions you may contact Housing & Residence Life at 209-228-4663 or at housing@ucmerced.edu.
