Resident Assistant (RA)

Resident Assistants (RA): Resident Assistants are a critical part of the Residence Life staff. They are continuing students who go through a rigorous selection and training process to prepare them to serve on-campus residents in the best possible way. RAs are assigned to a specific building, where their duties include:

  • Serving as a peer advisor;
  • Facilitating communication between and among residents;
  • Planning events and activities to foster a positive living learning community and enhance students’ success; and
  • Serving in an on-call rotation to respond to overnight emergencies.

RAs are compensated with a room and board package. Recruitment for the RA position runs November through January each year to select staff for the following year.
