Residents will be provided a move-in date and time. Due to heavy traffic and construction we ask the residents and families to adhere to the assigned move-in times stated in your housing assignment letter. If you cannot arrive during the assigned move-in time, you may move-in during the days/times available for your building below:

Students who have been approved for early arrival (move-in prior to August 16th) should follow their approved early arrival time.
Students should not show up early without approval. No student will be permitted to move into Glacier Point or Granite Pass before Saturday, August 18th.
Please read carefully the parking and traffic details for each day for campus move-in.
Prior to August 16th
Regular parking policies apply. Students may unload at tempoary spaces along Ranchers Road and then park in Bellevue Lot. Permit required. No overnight parking is permitted in Scholars or Calaveras lots.
Thursday, August 16th and Friday, August 17th
Spaces will be reserved in Bellevue and Scholars Lots. Limited short-term spaces will be available behind Calaveras Hall.
Saturday, August 18th
Access passes will be required to enter campus. Please download and print (color preferred but not required) the pass for your assigned building. These passes will help our staff direct your vehicle to the correct location. Late check-ins can park in Scholars Lot or behind Calaveras. No overnight parking is permitted in Scholars or Calaveras lots.
Sunday, August 19th
Spaces will be reserved in Bellevue and Scholars Lots. Limited short term spaces will be available. No overnight parking is permitted in Scholars or Calaveras lots.
After Sunday the 19th
Spaces will be available for unloading in the Calaveras lot. Check in at the Valley Terraces Housing Office durings of 10:00 am to 10:00 pm.
In order to move in you will need either your student ID (Cat Card) or another form of photo ID to move in. Move in carts will be available to assist with moving items.
Prior to August 16th (Approved early arrivals only)
Check in at the Valley Terracse Housing Office. Please follow instructions provided in your early arrival e-mail. The office is open 10 am to 10 pm.
Thursday, August 16th and Friday, August 17th (8am - 3pm)
Check in at the Alpine Room in Tenaya Hall. Check-in after 3pm will be available in the Valley Terraces housing office until 10:30 pm.
Saturday, August 18th (8am - 4 pm)
North campus will check in at the Summits Courtyard and South Campus will check in at Granite Pass and Glacier Point. Staff and signage will be available to direct you to your check-in location.
Check-in after 4pm will be available in the Valley Terraces Housing Office until 10:30 pm.
Sunday, August 19th (8am - 3 pm)
Check-in at the Cat Quad near the Valley Terraces Housing Office. Check-in after 3pm will be available in the Valley Terraces Housing Office until 10:30 pm.
Thursday, August 16th – Sunday, August 19th; 8:00am to 3:00pm – Check in with the Housing & Residence Life staff located at the tent stationed outside your respective leasing office.
*3:00pm to 5:00pm – check-in with the leasing office staff. There will be no check-ins available after 5:00pm.
Hand-carts are extremely limited (2 per area), but should not be needed since parking is fairly close to your unit.
For any maintenance issues with your apartment upon arrival, please visit your leasing office for assistance.
All unloading spaces on site will be marked with an orange cone. Unloading is limited to 45mins. Once finished, your vehicle must be moved to the street to allow for other students checking-in to unload.
If you were approved for a parking assignment on site, you may not utilize it during move in (8/16-8/19). You must park along the street until Monday, August 20th at 10am. If you are still waiting to hear back about your assignment, you can expect a response by Sunday, August 19th at 11:59pm PST.

We ask students to complete a 10-minute online check-in module on their housing portal. This module will cover important policies and procedures and completing online will help speed up the move-in process.
If you have not yet signed your housing contract (or had your parent/guardian sign) please do so before arriving. Not having a signed contract will delay your move-in.
- Move in during your assigned move in day and time.
- Download and print the Access Pass (Saturday Move-in)
- It is expected to be hot. Make sure to wear comfortable clothes and drink plenty of water.
- Know your building and room number to help speed up the check-in process.
- Have your student ID ready when you arrive to campus. If you have not yet gotten your student ID, you can submit a photo and have your ID ready when you arrive on campus.
- Review the What to Bring list. Don't overpack, there is only so much space in your room. Talk to your roommates about what can be shared.
- We know it will be a busy day but make sure to take time and enjoy the moment.
If you are no longer planning to attend UC Merced or live on campus you must cancel your housing application. You can cancel your application on the housing portal under Housing Cancellation. If you are no longer attending UC Merced, you must formally cancel your SIR or submit a withdraw to avoid fees.
