Move-in times will be from 8:00 am to 3:00 pm on the 19th and 20th. Residents were assigned move-in times in their assignment e-mails. While we ask that residents arrive during those times, they will be allowed to check in on either day during the time allotted. Residents not able to check in during the official move-in time can check in at the Valley Terraces housing office starting at 5:00 pm each day and during office hours the following week.

Move-In Process

  1. Families will arrive on campus and be directed to an unloading space in Lake Lot 1 parking. There they will be greeted by a move-in assistant.
  2. While the move-in assistant helps the family unload, the student will check in at stations along Scholars Lane.
    1. Students who have not yet received their student ID card will be directed to complete that at the Cat Card station near by.
    2. Students who have not completed their housing contract will be required to sign the contract or have their parent/guardian sign the contract.
  3. Once the vehicle is unloaded, it will be moved to a longer term parking area.
  4. Once checked in, the student will receive their room key. They will meet up with their family and be escorted to their room by the move-in assistant.

After move-in is complete, students will be free to unpack and explore campus. Each community will have a floor meeting hosted by their Resident Assistant (RA) that each resident is expected to attend. These meetings will provide important contact information, resources, and review essential policies.

Tips for a Successful Move-in

  • Complete the check in process early through Ready, Set, Mooove on the housing portal.
  • It will be hot. Stay hydrated (water stations will available), dress comfortably, and wear sunscreen.
  • If you have questions, ask. Feel free to contact our office ahead of move-in to ask questions. When you arrive there will be staff easily accessible to help with questions or issues.
  • Relax and enjoy the day. Move-in day is busy with lots of excitement and potential for stress. Make sure to enjoy this fun day and take the process one step at a time.

Campus Services

Some campus services will be available to assist on move-in day.

  • Cat Card Office: Can assist with student ID and questions about meal plans
  • Information Technology: Can help with getting your computer on the network
