Get a glimpse of on-campus living by staying in one of our suite-style accommodations for your orientation session! Availability is limited and housing accommodation reservations will close two weeks prior to the orientation session date. Staying on campus during orientation allows for opportunities to meet other incoming students and families. You can also get acquainted with the city of Merced and find out where everything is located before move-in!
Orientation housing is $25 per person, per night. Guests have the option to pay online with a credit card, or apply the charges to the student's account. Payments must be made online with a credit card prior to arrival. Cash or checks will NOT be accepted. Payments made online via credit card must be made prior to the arrival date.
Once a reservation has been made, Hospitality Services staff will send a confirmation within three business days. Confirmations will include your reservation details, and a link to pay online with a credit card.
On campus housing accommodations are limited and reservations are guaranteed on a first-come, first-serve basis. We highly recommend our guests to reserve well in advance of the deadline date. Reservations MUST be made at least two weeks prior to your scheduled orientation session. We have limited availability, and any reservations requests received after the specified deadline cannot be guaranteed.

Hospitality Services staff will be on hand for check in from 2-10 p.m. in Half Dome 195. You will receive directions to our office in your reservation confirmation email. Guests must present a photo ID at check-in. Families will receive 1 key and 1 access card for their room and building. Please contact our office prior to arrival if you will not be able to make the 10 p.m. cutoff.
Hospitality Services staff will be on hand for check-out in Half Dome 195 from 7-11 a.m. Room(s) must be vacated of all belongings, and any keys or access cards given during check-in must be returned during check-out. Failure to check out during this timeframe will result in additional charges.
Cancellations should be received no later than 24 hours prior to arrival. Guests will be charged the full amount of the reservation if we receive a cancellation after 2 p.m. on the day prior to your arrival. Please contact our office via phone at 209-228-2313. Please follow up with an email to confirm your request for cancellation at conferenceservices@ucmerced.edu. A Hospitality Services representative will contact you by phone or email to confirm that your request has been received and is approved.
The main parking lot for UC Merced is the Bellevue Parking Lot. This lot is enforced on campus from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Friday. Guests arriving during those hours will need to buy a parking pass at the self-serve kiosks. Parking passes are not included in the overnight rate. Any parking passes that are given to families by Orientation staff members, must be displayed as instructed. Maps will be sent in your confirmation email.
Our Pavilion Dining Center will be open for incoming students and their families to enjoy. Hours of operation are located at dining.ucmerced.edu.If you have time to explore the city of Merced, please visit the Promenade located approximately three miles away from campus at Paulson and Yosemite avenues. Guests can enjoy various cuisines, get your coffee fix at Starbucks and grab some money from the ATM.
Rooms located on the first floor will be available for guests in need of special accommodations. If specific housing accommodations are needed due to a disability, contact us prior to your arrival date so accommodations can be made.
