We're here to help. Get answers to some of the most common questions about UC Merced housing and campus life.

We encourage all students to apply for housing as we hope to offer housing to as many students as possible as soon as we are allowed to do so. Fall 2021 incoming first year students are required to live on campus for 2 years. For two-year live-on requirement information, please click here.

UC Merced plans for a return to primarily in-person instruction starting fall 2021 in line with the systemwide plan announced by the University of California.

With robust research and COVID-19 vaccines soon becoming available to students, staff and faculty, UC Merced is preparing to welcome more students back to residence halls, classrooms, laboratories, playing fields and dining halls — while continuing to prioritize the health and well-being of the Bobcat community. We will communicate more details as they become available and continue to coordinate all planning with the Merced County Department of Public Health.
