Elective room change will begin will be announced by email to your UC email address. Elective room change does not require mediation. Administrative room change can be requested if there are difficulties with the room situation. This can include conflicts with roommates or problems with the location. These are resolved by your buildings Residence Education Coordinator (REC). Contact your RA to learn more about room changes.
Step 1
If there is a conflict, residents must first attempt to resolve the matter between themselves
Step 2
If residents are unable to resolve a conflict on their own, they must work with their RA who will then facilitate a mediation in hopes of resolving the issue(s)
Step 3
If the conflict cannot be resolved or should a resident have other questions regarding the room change process, they may schedule an appointment with their REC. Appointments can be made by contacting assigned REC for living area. Directory information can be found HERE.
Step 4
At your appointment, your REC will assess the situation. If it is agreed that your move is appropriate, the REC will work with the student to complete an approved move.
Step 5
Once approved, your REC will send you an email confirming your move and provide you with additional information regarding the room change process.
Step 6
